Bikeways are protected lanes for people riding bikes. And they're coming to Omaha!
They're common in bigger cities, and have proven to increase safety, whether people are biking, walking or driving. Omaha's Market-to-Midtown Bikeway on Harney Street from 10th Street to Turner Boulevard, will begin an 18-month pilot period beginning Summer of 2021. Metro Smart Cities will be collecting data and feedback to determine the viability of more (and longer) bikeways in our community.
We're hosting a few virtual informational Q & A sessions about the Market-to-Midtown Bikeway and we'd love to have you join us and learn specifics about the project. We'll provide an overview, show you what the bikeway will look like on any given block along the corridor and answer any question you may have.
