What is the coalition?
The Cowboy Trail Coalition is a collaborative effort led by Bike Walk Nebraska, its partners, and trail-side community representatives to advance shared goals for the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail.
What has the coalition done?
- Identified the need for a Nebraska-based impact study of trails.
- Successfully advocated for trailhead signs along the trailhead system (to be installed summer of 2026).
- Installed (4) bike-fix-it stations along the trail system.
- Engaged 11 communities along the trail system to invest in trail town initiatives and practices.
What are the coalition goals?
- Identifying funding and development opportunities to see the trail system completed.
- Educate the public and elected officials to the importance of the trail system.
- Engage trail-side communities in harnessing the trail as a community asset.
