Julie Harris, Executive Director
Julie is a native of Scottsbluff, NE, and grew up in a neighborhood in which it was safe and easy to walk and bike to school and summers were spent exploring and bicycling the neighborhoods. Julie rediscovered her joy of biking as an adult and enjoys using her e-bike for transportation to run errands and to ride to the transit stop to catch the express bus to her office. She also enjoys recreational cycling on her road and mountain bikes.
Julie has 15 years of experience working as an advocate for biking and walking. She is a member of several local, state and national organizations, steering committees and working groups that focus on active transportation policy and Complete Streets issues. She is a member of the board of directors for Heartland Bike Share and the former chair of the City of Omaha Mayor’s Active Living Advisory Committee. She is also a bicycle safety certified instructor with the League of American Bicyclists.
Annabelle Abisset, Program Coordinator
Annabelle is a Juneau, Alaska native and grew up in Omaha. After earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in international studies and Spanish, she immediately went into the Master of Public Administration program with a specialization in nonprofit management. Annabelle brings community development and engagement experience from interning, volunteering, and working in various nonprofit organizations in the metro.
Annabelle enjoys long distance road biking on the trails throughout Nebraska and Iowa. She also loves commuting and riding around Omaha on her bike “Bianca.”
Mona Dowding, Operations Coordinator
Mona was reintroduced to a bicycle through Julie’s encouragement and after a long week of schlepping gear at BRAN 2015 (What are friends for, right Jules?). She now enjoys riding her hybrid, “Ivy”, on Omaha trails.
